Miriam Garmaise: Miriam joined Shomera In 2001, where she held several senior positions until being appointed Executive Director in September 2008.
Miriam has a varied background and wide range of experience in the areas of urban design, business and the non-profit world, allowing her a multi-disciplinary view of the issues and resources. She holds a dual Masters degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in City Planning (MCP) and Architectural Studies (MSARCHS), and was the recipient of a Central Mortgage and Housing Corporation of Canada Scholarship Award. Miriam is the Founder and CEO of a (boutique) business development company, Mirayn Initiatives, Ltd., which she runs independently and in parallel to her work at Shomera.
