Promoting Sustainable Cities Together
with "Green Oriented" Israeli Businesss
Although cities cover only 0.4 percent of the Earth’s
surface, they generate the bulk of world carbon
emissions, making urban areas key to alleviating the
climate crisis. Green building methods are an
effective strategy toward reducing carbon emissions,
waste, and use of energy and water. They are a vital
component in the vision for a sustainable urban
environment. We believe that the environmental
challenges facing us today demand multi-sector
convergence of for-profit, not-for profit, government
and academia towards common goals.
Shomera is working with the people and businesses that
are de-facto greening our planet as a way of furthering
our mission of creating sustainable communities.
The
Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce's
Greywater Recycling Unit
Shomera accompanies
The Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce's
Greywater Recycling Unit Grey Water Recling Unit - a group
of businesses specilaizing in greywater recycling
treatement systems. The objective of the unit is to
promote the integration of greywater recycling in Israel
by supporting regulatory efforts, quality assurance
monitoring mechanisms and the like. Shomera is the only
NGO to accompany the management committee of the unit.

i-Consortium
Shomera was one of the original
organizations and the only NGO to help establish Israel’s first Consortium of Energy and Security
services and technologies. The iConsortium, founded in
2007, is a group of Israeli companies and organizations
that came together to provide a comprehensive
approach to the greening and security of buildings by
integrating their high caliber greenbuilding, clean-tech
and security technologies and services.
The iConsortium is involved with a variety of national
initatives including the Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy
Initiative. Shomera was the NGO representative to the
steering committee of the Eilat Eilot Renewable Energy
Conference held in February 2010.
